Inclusions and Exclusions
The Mount Hagen Cultural Show is world famous. Tourists from all around the world converge on Mt Hagen this weekend. It is a once in a life time experience. If you want to view something truly spectacular this is a must see event. Tribes from all over the Western Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea and neighbouring tribes from the Jiwaka Province will congregate at 'Kanaga town' Mount Hagen to display their unique 'singsing's (cultural dances). The exciting Mt Hagen Cultural Show was first staged in 1961 before PNG's independence as an event to unite the different tribes in the region. The show's purpose is to share cultural experience and calm the very-present tribal animosities.
